Barbara and Alan Robbins have owned and operated Rocky Hill Stables, LLC boarding facility since 2000. The Robbins’ own 7 horses and have enjoyed trail riding recreationally since 1999. Alan and Barbara both enjoy the care, training and riding involved in owning horses, as well as the relationships built with their boarders, who become like family in many ways. Rocky Hill Stables has proven to be a great place for area college students to board their horses, with a home away from home atmosphere and convenience to JMU, EMU and Bridgewater. This family friendly place provides seasonal cookouts and barn trail rides in addition to the routine care of the horses.
Alan and Barbara have three grown sons and one daughter-in-law; Michael, Brian and Emily, and Matthew. Alan works as a Family Dentist in the nearby community of Timberville. Barbara offers leadership training clinics using the horses. She also works as a consultant with organizations and congregations specializing in conflict transformation and strategic planning.
When you arrive on the grounds of Rocky Hill Stables, you will be greeted by the three wagging tails of Molly, Arwen and Bella, the welcoming committee.
